The Sandgate Choir
About Us
In 1983 a small choral group was founded in Storrington under the musical direction of Gill Venton. In 1987 the group joined with the Thakeham Singers and became the Sandgate Singers.
Since that time the choir has gained in membership and musical stature and is now a vibrant and successful community choir.
The Sandgate Singers perform at least three concerts at local venues each year: Spring, Summer and Christmas, with music both secular and sacred. Recent Storrington concert venues have included Our Lady of England Priory, St. Mary’s C of E Church and Steyning Grammar School Rock Road Site. Further afield we have performed at various venues in Pulborough, Billingshurst, West Grinstead, Arundel, Amberley, Steyning, Petworth, West Chiltington, Worthing and Chichester. In the past we have been joined by children from Storrington First School. As a result of our concerts we have been able to support local churches and a number of charities.
Community Singing
As an offshoot from the main choir, a small group of choir members visit local residential homes and community groups singing popular songs from the past, evoking memories of our childhood favourites together with more current songs.
If you would like to book a Community Visit please go to our Contact page and send us a message.
